My role as a Team Manager involves leading and motivating a team of Telephone Negotiators. This industry is new to me, however I am enjoying the challenges it presents. One of the benefits for me is that the organisation has invested significantly in supporting me through my Credit Service Association Diploma course.
You’re dealing face to face with employees every day so your people skills really come in to play. One of the biggest challenges working in my department is maintaining successful team performance every day. That said, I’ve found that my colleagues are a very supportive bunch, who recognise the need to meet the aims of the Business and they are always willing to help solve any problems that may arise. The role of Team Manager is very rewarding, particularly coaching and developing people to reach their maximum potential. Adaptability is the key in this job, however for me that’s what makes the job so interesting. |

Job Title: Team Leader
Business Division: Receivables
Department: Pre – Legal Collections
Joined: December 2004 |
I found out about a career at EOS Solutions UK through a recruitment fair and was really impressed with their global standing in the market place. It looked a really good place to work and I was keen to learn about the industry. I’m pleased to say I still feel the same today.
I joined as a Telephone Negotiator and progressed to Team Coach after a one year and just recently I have been promoted to Team Leader. In this role I must always keep myself up to date with collections processes and procedures. Change management plays a big part in my job, and I guide, support and encourage my people to keep their team spirit high. Coaching is also one of my main responsibilities and I get a great deal of satisfaction from teaching new team members about our collections strategies and watching them develop and achieve their targets.
Part of my personal Development plan is to achieve my H.N.C in Business Management. I was sponsored to do this course through a day release programme supported by EOS. The new skills I am learning have made a huge impact on my career progression and my ability to focus on the organisational plans. |

Job Title: Trainer
Business Division: Support Services
Department: HR & Training
Joined: March 2006 |
When I joined EOS Solutions UK in 2006 as a trainer, the Business was embarking on a huge change programme, so it was exciting to be part of that.
My current role is extremely varied and includes responsibility for inducting all new recruits coming into the organisation. The best thing about my role is the variety of people it brings me in to contact with. However the bonus for me is seeing people leave the training department with the appropriate skills and knowledge to help make them successful in their jobs.
My role is pivotal in ensuring people settle into the organisation quickly and that they are given ongoing development throughout their career with us. Life in the training department can be fairly fast paced as our managers require ongoing support to develop their teams to drive improved performance throughout the organisation. I am undertaking professional development myself through the CIPD and am very pleased that EOS Solutions UK recognises the benefits of continuous personal development and are therefore happy to fund my studies. |

Job Title: Client Services Clerk
Business Division: Receivables
Department: Client Services
Joined: May 2005 |
I’ve dealt directly with customers and customer issues pretty much throughout my time at EOS. You need to be able to keep a cool head at all times and a sense of humour doesn’t hurt either. Getting on well with people is vital of course and that goes as much for the team I work with as it does for the customers.
Working in the Client Services team is an interesting and challenging role, and it helps that I'm part of a great team. Therefore, the support we provide for each other and the company as a whole plays an important part in each working day.
The main thing I like about my role is that no two days are the same. I enjoy the fact that EOS Solutions UK support personal initiative and you’re quickly given as much responsibility as you can handle. This plays an important part when dealing with customer queries and solving problems to the satisfaction of the Business, customers and clients. |

Job Title: Contact and Recovery Clerk
Business Division: Information and Field Services
Department: Contact and Recovery
Joined: December 2004 |
I joined the company working in the cash Team as a Cash Administration Assistant where the role involved data inputting for all the accounts invoices. In 2005 I moved to the Client Services department dealing with all our customers’ enquiries and 2006 brought new opportunities for me with a move to the Contact and Recovery Department. My main day to day tasks now involve liaising with our field agents, booking appointments and collecting client data to report information back to our customers.
You have to be very organised in this role and have the ability to communicate clear information back to the field services and fortunately I work with a great team who enjoy the daily challenges we are presented with. |

My reports are an invaluable tool for business improvement and our clients, part of my responsibility is to help produce reports and improve reporting systems. The thing I like most about my role is liaising with people at various levels including team managers and directors and the opportunity to have a direct influence on improving the business, no matter what your role! In doing so I have been able to apply what I’ve learnt in education and through my employment. There is an open culture here where new ideas are appreciated and working with approachable people is important to the success of any company.
My advice to those wanting a career in this industry is you must be proactive and think outside-the-box, be able to plan and coordinate well and meet people’s expectations. You must also expect and be-able to adapt to change by understanding your competitors, looking at what they’re doing, and doing it better.

Job Title: Financial Accounts Assistant
Business Division: Support Services
Department: Finance
Joined: September 1999 |
I joined EOS Solutions UK working on the YTS programme as a secretary to provide administrative support to the Board members in the organisation. From there I moved on to working as a receptionist responsible for greeting all our visitors and dealing with telephone enquiries. In 2001 I was successful in applying for a job in the Accounts Department and have enjoyed the variety of work the department offers ever since.
I’m in my second year studying towards the Association of Account Technicians qualification which has helped me progress in my role as Accounts Assistant. My days can be varied and a typical day can involve anything from bank reconciliations to producing client invoices. The end of the month is particularly busy for our department, meeting business deadlines and collating month end reports. I work as part of a close team who always support each other. What makes my job so interesting is the new skills I am constantly learning, particularly from my colleagues who support me in my role. After this role, I’ll be looking to progress to the next level in the Accounts Department. I think if you want to succeed at EOS Solutions UK you have to be keen, professional and very dedicated. You definitely need a ‘can do’ attitude and you need the desire to make something of yourself. |

Job Title: Telephone Negotiator
Business Division: Receivables
Department: Pre – Legal Collections
Joined: May 2006 |
Since I joined EOS Solutions UK as a Telephone Negotiator, I’ve spent quite a lot of my time focusing on developing the skills I need to reach my targets. The organisation provided me with a three week initial training programme and this gave me the confidence to negotiate the settlement of accounts over the telephone. There is also a great deal of legal information to remember to ensure compliance with The Data protection Act and important information surrounding our governing bodies including the Financial Services Association. The role can be demanding and you definitely need a good sense of humour, however every day brings different challenges and opportunities and this really keeps me on my toes.
The main benefit of this role is the thrill of reaching your targets each month as the organisation rewards you with a very attractive monetary incentive scheme when these are achieved. There is a good team spirit in the collections department and we are always happy to support new people joining us. My advice to anyone wanting to join EOS Solutions UK is to go ahead and do it - you won’t regret it if you’re open- minded and ready for a challenge. |

I joined EOS Solutions UK in 2001 hoping to build a career within a fast moving and exciting environment. After starting, it became apparent that there may be opportunities for progression. The good thing about working here is that your potential and hard work is recognised. The management team have supported my development and career progression and my personal development plan is now in place to continue with supporting and developing me. This just makes me want to succeed even more.
In 2001 my career started in the Contact and Recovery Division as an Administrator, after six months I was promoted to Team Leader and then Team Manager. In 2005 an opportunity came along for me to move to the Receivables Division managing the Legal Department.
The role I have today is really varied which keeps the job interesting. I enjoy the challenge of meeting the teams’ targets and improving the processes and strategies to ensure we remain competitive. The main responsibility I have is managing the people to achieve their targets and reach their full potential whilst keeping their morale and motivation high. |
